They ordered regular pizza. They got HIGH.
There are bad pizza nights.
Cold crust. Wrong toppings. Somebody puts pineapple on something it has no business being on.
And then there’s this:
A Wisconsin restaurant accidentally served THC-infused food to at least 85 people.
Not weed pizza.
Not an infused-menu special.
Not “21+ only, ask your budtender about today’s deep-dish.”
Just regular customers ordering dinner.
The restaurant shared kitchen space with a business that made THC edibles. At some point, the pizza shop ran out of cooking oil and grabbed what they thought was ordinary oil.
It was not ordinary oil.
It was THC-infused oil.
And they proceeded to use it in the dough.
Pizza.
Garlic bread.
Cheese bread.
Sandwiches.
Basically, an entire menu quietly turned into an edible without anybody knowing it.
Imagine this for a second.
You order a pizza.
You’re hungry.
You crush three slices because, obviously, it’s pizza.
Twenty minutes later, you’re thinking:
“Damn. This pizza is incredible.”
Forty-five minutes later:
“Why is the couch breathing?”
An hour later:
“Do you think dogs understand capitalism?”
Ninety minutes later:
You are no longer in Wisconsin.
You are orbiting Saturn in a Pizza Hut delivery box trying to explain to a pepperoni why time is a social construct.
They ordered regular pizza. They got HIGH.
And somewhere in the kitchen, somebody is still wondering where the hell that bottle of oil came from.
Here’s the wild part: this actually became a public-health investigation.
Officials ultimately identified dozens of people with symptoms consistent with THC intoxication, with affected customers ranging in age from very young to elderly.
Which is where the funny part stops being funny for a second.
Nobody knowingly signed up for an edible. People were simply eating dinner, and because THC in food can take a while to kick in, someone could easily keep eating before realizing anything was wrong.
And anyone who has ever misjudged an edible knows the fundamental rule:
You can always eat more.
You cannot uneat it.
The lesson?
Label your shit.
Separate your shit.
And maybe, before dumping mysterious kitchen oil into the pizza dough, ask one additional question.
Because there is a very important difference between:
“Dinner’s ready.”
and
“Dinner has altered the nature of space and time.”
WTF?!?
85 PEOPLE ORDERED PIZZA.THEY ACCIDENTALLY GOT EDIBLES.
We wish we made this one up.
Speaking of edibles.. check out our edible selection.
